Climate scientists: ‘SLC will one day be St. George’
Temperatures and waist lines to rise by year 2100

SLC, UT — Utah’s capital is on its way to becoming St. George, climate scientists affirmed Friday.
Results from a seven-year study completed by climatologists from the state’s universities predict temperatures in Salt Lake City will rise 8 degrees within 100 years.
“It’s only a matter of time before those temps begin to increase,” said Henry Dillenger, professor of world climate trends at Utah State University. “Soon after that we expect to see a drastic rise in waist lines and golf handicaps.”
The news has impacted construction plans for downtown’s City Creek Center. Look for a Jazzy lift to replace the proposed sky bridge as well as increased wheelchair access to Walgreen’s.
